Klitschko vs. Haye: Will Wladimir make it into the ring?

By Ziggy Shah: Well, well, well, after two years of failed agreements, slagging matches and mocking each other’s fighting hearts, Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye will finally, it seems, put their titles on the line when they share the same ring this summer.

Negotiations between both camps had been difficult in the past, as both parties blamed each other for the fight never materializing. And after Wladimir announced that he was to defend his IBF and WBO titles against Britain’s Dereck Chisora on April 30th, it seemed that a fight between the two champions would never happen.

But after Wladimir pulled out of the rescheduled fight claiming injury, sceptics began wondering if a unification fight with WBA belt holder, David Haye, was on the horizon.

Thankfully, for the sport of boxing and the fight fans, they were right, as the £40 million showdown was confirmed to go ahead in Germany on June 25th or July 2nd.

Naturally, fight fans will be pleased that both fighters have finally agreed to meet, but at the same time a feeling of doubt will also creep in, given the history of this potential match-up and the breakdowns of communications between both camps.
Will Haye pull out injured? Or will Wladimir’s torn stomach muscle resurface and put a halt to the fight? It is highly unlikely, but ‘The Wladimir and Haye Show’ has been going on for quite a while now, and it is a show in which anything is possible.

Be optimistic for sure, because the fight has been signed and sealed, but we will wait and see if It gets delivered!
